Nonwoven fabrics used in the medical field play a critical role in patient and healthcare personnel safety. Fluid barrier and breathability balance are the most important performance criteria in the production of surgical gowns and coveralls. Our SMS (Spunbond-Meltblown-Spunbond) composite structures provide superior protection in the operating room environment by combining these two features in a single fabric. The Meltblown layer offers bacterial filtration efficiency, while the Spunbond layers guarantee mechanical durability.
In the hygiene sector, our fabrics used in baby diapers, sanitary napkins and adult care products offer soft touch and hypoallergenic properties in products that come into contact with the skin. While our hydrophilic application increases liquid permeability, hydrophobic surfaces create a liquid barrier. Our OekoTex certificate certifies that our products do not contain substances harmful to human health.

Spunbond SS fabrics provide sufficient performance for disposable caps, overshoes and simple patient drapes. However, for applications requiring a liquid barrier such as surgical gowns, surgical drapes and protective coveralls, SMS or SMMS composite structures should be preferred. The meltblown layer creates a bacterial and liquid filtration barrier in these structures.
Hydrophilic (water permeable) and hydrophobic (water repellent) applications can be applied to diaper and sanitary napkin components. Soft touch and antibacterial treatments are also available for skin contact layers. All our hygiene applications are produced in accordance with OekoTex standards.
The OekoTex Standard 100 certificate is an international safety certificate that proves through independent laboratory tests that our fabrics do not contain chemicals harmful to human health. It provides assurance to our customers, especially in baby products and skin contact medical and hygiene applications.
